So here you are reading the sleeve notes to a Mark Kelf and the Valley Boys CD. You’re wondering – „Who the hell are they?. What do they sound like? Where do they come from?&quot. Well, from the depths of deepest Norfolk (you know, the place where the twice yearly Hemsby weekenders are held) comes a pounding rockabilly rhythm and it’s all original material penned by lead singer and bass player Mark and guitarist ‚Bottle‘. They refuse to do cover songs! Why do a song that’s been done over and over again, no one hardly ever does a cover better than the original. Any good DJ is always looking for new tracks to play, and it’s not often you are given a CD with more than a couple of good tracks on it. Well this CD is crammed to the case with good stuff! Just listen to the killer boppers ‚Lilly’s learned to bop‘, ‚She’s Gonna Rock It‘, ‚Didn’t have much luck or ‚Hop up Daddy‘, songs I’m sure would get the cats on the dance floor! There’s even a killer stroller called ‚Alligator Mama‘ to keep those chicks happy! So there you go! You’ve now read the sleeve notes, go on – treat yourself, put your hand in your pocket, pull out some cash and buy it. You won’t be disappointed! Skinny Jim, Norfolk 2001
